Honorable Morton Denlow

Magistrate Judge, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois

Honorable Morton Denlow was appointed to the federal bench as Magistrate Judge in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (Eastern Division) in 1996 and recently served a four-year term as Presiding Magistrate Judge. Prior to his appointment, Judge Denlow was a trial and an appellate lawyer in complex commercial litigation for 24 years. He has over ten years experience in the field of alternative dispute resolution as an arbitrator and mediator. Judge Denlow has lectured extensively in the field of ADR and written numerous articles on the subject, including "Settlement Conference Techniques: A Judge's Opening Statement," published in the American Bar Association's The Judges' Journal, and "Concluding a Successful Settlement Conference: It Ain't Over Till It's Over," which appeared in Court Review, The Journal of the American Judges Association. He is currently a member of the ADR Committee of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago.
