• "Mediation Can Bring Gains, But Under What Conditions?", written by RSI Director of Research Jennifer E. Shack, is published in the American Bar Association's Dispute Resolution Magazine.
• RSI begins process of evaluating Cook County Child Protection Mediation Program.

2004

• Major Civil Case Mediation Program established in 1st Judicial Circuit. RSI provides training, evaluation services, and monitoring software.
• Major Civil Case Mediation Program established in Cook County. RSI assists in rule creation, as well as monitoring and evaluation services and software.
• Major Civil Case Mediation Program established in 20th Judicial Circuit. RSI provides training, evaluation services, and monitoring software.
• 17th Judicial Circuit launches pilot program for mediation of financial issues in divorce cases. RSI assists with writing of the rule, helps with coordination of mediator training, and creates report and evaluation forms.
• RSI conducts preliminary evaluation of mediation program in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (Western Division).
• ADR Handbook for Judges, which was co-edited by RSI Executive Director Susan M. Yates, is published by the American Bar Association.
• RSI receives grant from Conflict Resolution Information Source (CRInfo) to create a section of their website (www.CRInfo.org) devoted to the best resources on court ADR.
• "Judicial Settlement Databases: Development and Uses," which was co-authored by RSI Executive Committee Member Hon. Morton Denlow and RSI Director of Research Jennifer Shack, is published in the American Bar Association's The Judges' Journal.
• RSI Service to the Community Award presented to Judge Philip G. Reinhard and Magistrate Judge P. Michael Mahoney of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (Western Division).
